Toppling bird cages!

I just love this stamp set!  Aviary is retiring at the end of this month, but it's still available as a digital download.  I'd seen variations of this card on Pinterest and couldn't wait to make my own.  I used several retiring colors, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, and Bravo Burgandy.  I'm not a big fan of distressing, but I wanted my club girls to get a chance to try it out.  So, we distressed the white panel and curled up the upper left corner.  It looks like the birds have been chewing on it!  The sentiment comes from Kindness Matters, another retiring set.  One of my club girls said that this project was her all time favorite!  So simple, yet adorable.
Thanks!

Bloomin' Bouquet Kit!

I've had so much fun this morning!  My wonderful sister gave me this kit for Mother's Day.  It's called Bloomin' Wonderful and it's only available from Stampin' Up! while supplies last.  I used my hot glue gun to adhere and my bone folder to curl the petals.  Everything else is included in with the kit!  I love kits!

Sneak peek!

Got to sneak downstairs and play with some of my new sneak peek products!  This card uses the upcoming new In Colors and a two new stamp sets, Mosaic Madness and a new hostess set called Banner Greetings.  I also used a new punch and embossing folder that coordinate with the Mosaic Madness stamp set.  Gotta love coordination!  One of my favorite things about Stampin' Up!

Time for a Facebook Giveaway! Help me reach 100 "Likes"!

Be sure and like my Crafty Masterpieces Facebook Page!    (you may have to "open link in new tab" to see it.  I'm not sure why blogger does that).  I've been stuck at 78 likes for awhile now and I'd love to get to 100!  How about a giveaway when I reach 100 likes?  Sound like a good idea to me!  How about a set of initial note cards for the winner?  I always love personalized items, I'm betting you do too!

Click here to go to Crafty Masterpieces on Facebook and be sure and click the "like" button!  I'll announce the winner here on my blog.

Thanks!

Never Ending Card Video-Pretty Amazing!

I had a private class recently on some really cool folds, and this was one of our projects.  It's called a Never Ending card, or I've also heard it called a Perpetual fold.  Whatever you want to call it, it's pretty awesome!  It's amazing how some cuts, scores, and well placed adhesive makes this thing work!  If you're in Kentucky (Lexington or Louisville areas) or Southern Indiana (Jeffersonville area) and would like to host a private class for your friends and family, I'd love to teach you some fun techniques!  Email me at christy@craftymasterpieces.com for more information.

I just figured out how to upload videos!

Whew!  I now know how to upload videos!  Sometimes, pictures just don't do justice to the interactive cards with moving parts that I love so much.  This is called a "pulley" card and I followed the directions here.  It's so cool!  My stamp club is making this type of card for our Father's Day project.  It's sure to amaze!

Cherry on Top

This is the first project I've made with this set and it's almost time for it to go!  This is a hostess set called "Cherry on Top".  I used my Big Shot to smash a small Soda Pop Top.  The small cherry is from "Itty Bitties", also getting ready to retire.  The paper is called "Sweet Shop" and is still available in the Clearance Rack section.  Check out my online store to see all kinds of other cool stuff!

Earth Laughs Notecards

I've been having fun printing up 8x10's of this design to frame and use as gifts.  For some reason, when I printed up 4 on a page (to trim into note cards), the color came out way different.  I still love them, though!  I matted with Pacific Point and used Lucky Limeade for my base.  The ribbon was from Sale A Bration  2012.  I used dimensionals behind the Pacific Point panel to make it pop just a bit.

MDS Thank You Card

Playing around with printing up my own cards at home.  I used my black and white laser printer for this one.  More economical than my inkjet, but not quite as nice.  I tried a digital bow, but it was just too much black.  So, I added a satin bow.  I'm still learning the ropes with printing options.

Fun with MDS!

I'm rediscovering my love for digital crafting this morning!  It's easier than ever to do digital crafting-right on your couch while drinking coffee.  That's what I've been doing today.  This kit is called "On the Go" and it's perfect for little boys.  Cards, scrapbook pages, even wall art for their rooms!
Have a great weekend!
